So, why all this preamble? YouTube channel Just Add Monsters decided to revisit Condemned 2‘s development in a brand-new documentary. Monolith still holds the rights to the franchise, and has been looking for the right team for a while now to move the franchise forward, but that unfortunately hasn’t happened yet. But sadly, with 2008’s Condemned 2: Bloodshot, the game simply didn’t sell enough to warrant a third entry. The series definitely started off strong with Condemned: Criminal Origins, with serious survival horror vibes, coupled with some unique clue-gathering and investigative elements. Monolith’s Condemned series is one of those many “What happened to ‘X’?” moments in gaming.
